Clarke School for the Deaf

Located in Northampton, MA, Clarke School for the Deaf/Center for Oral Education is the oldest school in America that emphasizes speech instruction for deaf children in order to facilitate a smooth transition into mainstream public schools. For more than 130 years, Clarke's mission has been to provide hearing-impaired children with the necessary skills and self-confidence they need to become independent, successful adults in the hearing world.

The American Honda Foundation awarded a grant to Clarke School to disseminate the Millennium Mathematics Project. The mathematics curriculum for this project aligns with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the standards of the National Association of Teachers of Mathematics.
