Science Service Since 1921, Science Service, located in Washington, D.C., has been one of the most respected nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing the understanding and appreciation of science among people of all ages through publications and educational programs. Science Service encourages students, parents, teachers and communities to explore the vast world of science. In order to make science news more accessible to children and to demonstrate that science is a dynamic subject, Science Service developed Science News for Kids (SNK) online to target middle school students and their teachers. Unique features of SNK include appealing, easy-to-read snapshots of scientific research, an inside track on science fairs, a chance to work with a well-known science fiction author, as well as opportunities to solve puzzles, do experiments, take part in polls and ask questions of scientists and reporters.
