"Follow Your Dreams," American Honda's 2013 entry in the 124th Rose Parade®, was the lead float in the colorful Pasadena proceedings on New Year's Day. The float's design captured the theme of the Rose Parade—"Oh, the Places You'll Go!™"—through its imaginative depiction of innovative Honda technologies and Dr. Seuss-inspired features. The Honda float featured a 16-foot-high working slide, symbolic of the journey where dreams take you. This marked the 52nd year Honda has collaborated with the Tournament of Roses® and its third parade as presenting sponsor, bringing family entertainment to a worldwide audience and enhancing the Southern California communities where we work and live. This year's float also included three world-champion athletes whose sporting achievements epitomized Honda's "Follow Your Dreams" motif: U.S. sprinter Carmelita Jeter, and from the 2012 "Fierce Five" women's gymnastics team, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross. The all-new 2013 Honda Accord Sedan was the parade's official pace car, and the all-new 2013 Honda Accord Coupe served as the sound car. For the third straight year, Honda's entry was propelled by a specially configured, low-emission hybrid engine to help the float function more efficiently and reduce its carbon footprint.
