A significant number of fatal pedestrian injuries are the result of trauma to the head. So, Honda has focused initially on reducing the threat of head injuries to pedestrians. These technologies include a wiper system and other hood features designed to give way to help cushion the force if struck by the head of a pedestrian.

| You've seen crash test dummies before but never one like this. Honda's pedestrian test dummy is the most sophisticated in the world. It has instruments that measure the level of injury in eight regions of the body. This helps us identify the areas of the vehicle closely associated with injuries. We then design the vehicle to help minimize injuries to pedestrians. |
